International Cooperation in Good Governance

Korea, once an international aid recipient, has now become a donor country with remarkable economic growth. Cited as a success model of official development assistance (ODA), Korea’s public administration development model has been receiving huge global attention.

Korea hopes to share its success stories as well as best practices and polices in the field of public administration, which played a pivotal role in the country’s social and economic development, with countries around the world. And, we aim to contribute to the advancement of the global community as a pioneer in administrative innovation.

Key Commitments

  • Strengthening the foundation for spreading Korea’s good governance through extended cooperation in public administration
    • Send the Korean delegation to countries, requesting for cooperation in public administration, in Europe, Middle East-North Africa, Central and South America, and Asia, and expand the scope of cooperation in the field of public administration
    • Prepare follow-ups to the activities of the Korean delegation on cooperation in public administration, and provide full support to requests for follow-up cooperation made by partner countries
  • Supporting pan-government international cooperation
    • Discover and develop government-wide contents on good governance, and spread contents on good governance via online web service
    • Build a network by sharing Korea’s best practices in good governance with the international community and supporting pan-government international cooperation
    • Provide interpretation and translation services for non-English foreign languages by professional interpreters to government agencies, thereby helping to meet the demands for international cooperation in those agencies
  • Exchanging and cooperating with international organizations and foreign governments
    • Bolster cooperation with international organizations including the United Nations through the UN Project Office on Governance (UNPOG)
    • Contribute to sharing Korea’s good practices and policies on public administration by expanding the exchange and cooperation with international organizations and foreign governments
